We are now accepting work from members of the community for bisque and glaze firing.
Community members interested in having their work fired at Arbutus should be aware that our students’ work always takes precedence in kiln space, and we cannot meet requests for firing services on a deadline.
Our firings are to cone 6. Payment is required at drop-off – cash, credit, and check accepted.
Beginning March 1st, 2024, firing fees are as follows:
By the Square Foot: $6 per firing
Full Kiln: $90 per firing
All work dropped off for firing must be labeled with name, date, and type of clay.Work may not include any combustible materials (e.g. wood, newspaper) and must not be solid or extremely thick.Work must be removed from containers and placed on Arbutus ware boards. Any packaging or containers you leave in the studio will be discarded.
Ceramic ware may be dropped off by appointment only, and you may contact our Studio Manager, Elizabeth, at firstname.lastname@example.org, to arrange a time. Typical drop-off and pick-up times are listed below, but please wait for email confirmation from Elizabeth before showing up.
